Dancing with Karos & Kambro

This is the second of the three shoots that we did for Karos & Kambro. This time round we went to take some photographs of dancers practicing for a production. The venue for the shoot was a school in Mamelodie. Trying to capture the kids whilst the building was shaking and bouncing to the rhythym of their dancing proved to be quite a challenge. Often we found ourselves lining up a shot, been bounced out of our stances, and then having to reset our positions whilst the room continued to reverb with the stamping down of ten pairs of feet. It doesn't sound a lot but when there is energy and intent, that is plenty enough.

Pule from Karos and Kambro

Pule is a skills trainer for Karos Kambro. He grew up without a afther or mother. He joined their choir. Karos and Kambro became a place of belonging for Pule who is now one of their top facilitators. His story formed part of one of their productions which we were asked to take photographs for.
